On November 10th, 2015, University of Economics and Law cooperating with Thu Dau Mot University and Institute of Research and Development of France, which is located in Vietnam (IRD) held an international workshop “Impacts of industrialization on community. Lessons from China and India, and Practices in Vietnam”.
The workshop was held with the attendance of many lecturers from University of Economics and Law. Many scientists contributed their writings at the workshop including Associate Professor Nguyen Chi Hai, Nguyen Anh Tuan, MA, Nguyen Thi Van Anh, MA.
The workshop also welcomed Doctor Vu Trong Binh, Director General of Local Department, Board of National Economic; Mr. Sylvie Fanchette, on behalf of IRD; Associate Professor Ton Nu Quynh Tran, from Urban Research and Development Center, Ho Chi Minh City; Associate Professor Nguyen Tien Dung, Rector of University of Economics and Law; Associate Professor Nguyen Van Hiep, Rector of Thu Dau Mot University and more than 200 lectures, officers and scientists from many universities, research centers and institutes in Ho Chi Minh City.
The workshop lasted the whole day, consisting of 3 parts with 12 speeches which focused on problems: industrial areas development, rural and urban development, land uses, how to enhance the technology facilities, workforce movement, job lacking, poverty, education, health service, urban management in industrialization, experience in making policies to develop industrial areas in China and India,… At the end of the workshop, attendants visited the Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Area which is situated in Binh Duong.
The workshop does not only bring much useful knowledge to the attendants but also enhance the relationship in research field between University of Economics and Law with other Universities as well as research centers and institutes in Vietnam and around the world.
