“Household’s coping strategies and recoveries from shocks: evidence from Vietnam” Seminar

In the morning of June 16th 2015, Department of Economics held a seminar on the topic "Household’s coping strategies and recoveries from shocks: evidence from Vietnam” presented by Doctor Tran Quang Van at Financial market simulation room.

Attending the seminar, there was the presence of officers, lecturers from Faculty of Economics and lecturers from other faculties of University of Economics and Law who concerned about this subject.

At the opening of the Seminar, Dr. Tran Quang Van presented the literature review of doctoral dissertation “Poverty and Vulnerability in Vietnam”. In particular, the writer intensively analyzed the result of the research - Chapter 3 of the dissertation.

The research was carried out in 3 provinces of Vietnam: Ha Tinh, Thua Thien Hue, Dak Lak in a range of 2000 households from the year 2002 to 2010. It focused on the shocks that resulted in residents’ poverty, the influences of the shocks and strategies from the residents to overcome the shocks.

After Dr. Tran Quang Van’s presentation, the participants of the seminar intensively questioned and discussed the research.
