Seminar on Enhancing the Quality of Economics Education and Networking with Alumni and Employers
On the morning of August 27, 2023, at the campus located at 45 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, the Faculty of Economics – University of Economics and Law successfully organized the seminar titled “Enhancing the Quality of Economics Education – Networking with Alumni and Employers.”
The event was honored by the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chi Hai – former Dean of the Faculty of Economics, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Nga – former Vice Dean of the Faculty, along with the current faculty leadership and lecturers. The seminar welcomed 98 delegates, including 15 representatives from various employers, 68 alumni from cohorts 2010 to 2019, and 8 current students from the 2020 cohort who are class representatives. In addition, the event was virtually joined by 6 alumni currently studying and working in Poland, Germany, and Italy.
The seminar featured diverse perspectives and discussions around practical challenges, approaches, and solutions aimed at improving the quality of the Economics program and fostering stronger connections within the Faculty of Economics – University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Key discussion topics included:

Measures to enhance the quality of the Economics training program.

Active teaching and learning methodologies.

Strengthening the linkage between businesses and the Faculty during the training process.

Solutions to improve students' soft skills throughout their education.
Following the presentations, many insightful discussions took place among employers, alumni, and current students, focusing on the curriculum design, industry-academia collaboration, and essential skills for students in the context of global integration.
The seminar served as a meaningful opportunity for reconnection and sharing between lecturers and generations of students, recalling fond memories of teaching and learning. It also provided a platform for employers to explore partnerships in internships, field trips, and guest lectures, while proposing new initiatives to support student development and contribute to the growth of the Faculty and the University of Economics and Law.
