With the aim of enhancing students' career awareness and increasing connections enterprise from April 13, 2023 to April 16, 2023, the Faculty of Economics organized a practical field and listened to practice for K21403C class and K21401C class in Da Lat together with advisor Dr. Pham My Duyen, MS.Trần Lục Thanh Tuyen and MS.Tran Thi Loc.
At PepsiCo Company, the internship group was introduced to activities of PepsiCo Vietnam by Mr. Pham Van Thach, the Head of Human Resources (Agricultural Division), annually offers internship opportunities for students from various schools (internship program for 6 months). Students gained experience in the potato fields, observing the procurement process and transportation of potatoes from the fields to PepsiCo's raw material gathering point.
During the practical field trip, PepsiCo Vietnam's Director of Agronomy - Mr. Nguyen Hong Hang - introduced the process of linking the Lay's potato value chain of Pepsico Vietnam in Don Duong and Gia Lai. Students learn about technology used in potato production to improve product value, the quality control process for input materials; the mechanisms for supporting inputs (material, fertilizers) for farmers and output product consumption; The roles of technical personnel in technology transfer to farmers (drip irrigation in Gia Lai, mist irrigation in Lam Dong), and the process of purchasing products from source regions to the factory. Students can exchange ideas and directly debate with enterprises regarding production-related issues within enterprises, mechanisms for fostering sustainable linkages within supply chains in Vietnam.
During the internship at Vinh Tien Co., Ltd., students learned about the organizational structure, the process of formation and enterprise's development, the business model that combines agricultural products (artichoke tra, mushrooms, wine) with tourism and visiting the closed production process of Vinh Tien. Thereby, students increase their awareness of major issues related to analysis, management, government policies and business desire in the process of calling for local investment and executing corporate investments, the issues concerning the linkage mechanism between businesses and farmers and the role of stakeholders in promoting in-depth to rise value, farmer's income, enterprise and the economic value of land in Da Lat.
In addition to activities within the businesses, students also explored the cultural, environmental aspects in Da Lat city, increasing understanding and awareness of historical, cultural, human values in economic activities. The trip holds significant positive values for students majoring in Economics and Business Management in increasing their knowledge and practical understanding of businesses in economic activities, developing their skills in the field of business and economics, cooperation, improving attitudes, career awareness and career orientation.
