Seminar “Salary dealing skills for newly graduated students”

“How much salary and how to deal with salary?" is of particular interest to graduating students who are eager to learn about it. In response to the student's interest in this issue, at 13:30 on November 4, 2022, Faculty of Economics held a seminar “Salary dealing Skills for newly graduated students” in Room A.608, University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. 

The seminar featured guest speaker Ms. Duy Thi Lan Huong - a senior recruitment consultant of Navigosearch Group, along with academic advisors, M.A. Nguyen Thanh Huyen, M.A. Le Nhan My, M.A. Bui Hong Ngoc, M.A. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong and especially more than 120 students from class K19401C and K20401.

At the beginning of the seminar, Ms. Lan Huong shared her own learning and working process.

Following that, Ms. Duy Thi Lan Huong, who possesses extensive practical experience, presented in detail the issues that students were concerned about. These included current common salaries in the labor market, the difference in salaries for specific jobs and welfare in various types of businesses.

In addition, Ms. Lan Huong shared additional "tips" to help newly graduated students find out the revenue associated with their jobs and how to deal with their salary to make it friendly for the employer but still effective. 

The students were really excited about the above information and enthusiastically shared their beginner stories when applying for part-time jobs.

Following her presentation and discussion with the students of Ms. Lan Huong, the speaker, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huyen discussed the notes she uses while negotiating salaries with employers. She emphasized net and gross salaries for the students to compare and make the right decision; about labor contracts, types of labor contracts, especially benefits to participate in social insurance, public health insurance, unemployment insurance associated with types of contracts and how to resolve conflicts related to employees' rights in labor contracts.

The seminar ended successfully at 3:30 p.m. on the same day.
