Seminar "Necessary skills for 4th-year students when participating in the labor market"

To prepare 4th-year students for future participation in the labor market, Faculty of Economics organized a seminar titled "Necessary skills for labor market participation" on 4th November 2022, at 8:30 am in Room A.608, University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

The seminar had the participation of Dr. Trinh Hoang Hong Hue, Vice Dean of Faculty and academic advisors: MA. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, MA. Nguyen Thanh Huyen, MA. Le Nhan My, MA. Bui Hong Ngoc and guest speaker Ms. Duy Thi Lan Huong, a senior recruitment consultant from Navigosearch group. The seminar was attended by 135 students from classes K19401 and K19403. 

At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Trinh Hoang Hong Hue, the representative of the Dean of Faculty of Economics, made a couple of statements emphasizing the crucial role of skills that students need to equip to participate in today's fierce and competitive labor market confidently."

  Next, speaker Ms. Duy Thi Lan Huong, with practical experience as a long-time expert in this field, shared extremely useful knowledge with the students about various contents, including basic job search knowledge from different sources such as graduated students, acquaintances and online job search sites; exploring job opportunities suitable for major; and the importance of preparing a well-rounded CV and things to consider when participating in an interview.

Furthermore, she shared additional "tips" to help newly graduated students create a favorable impression through their personal profiles, how to confirm interview appointments, appropriate dressing for interviews and how to interview for achieving the best results. 

The students were really excited and enthusiastic as well as asked many questions to interact with the speakers. 

After Ms. Lan Huong's presentation, Ms. Thanh Huyen shared about the labor contract, gross salary, net salary, contract termination and how to resolve conflict in labor contracts. 

At the end of the seminar, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong shared further on the subjects and topics covered in the training program. She emphasized the importance of applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations and encouraged 4th-year students try their best to complete their training on time, enabling them to seize promising career opportunities in the future.

The seminar successfully ended at 11:30 a.m. on the same day.
