"Poverty reduction – the present situation and some effective approaches" seminar was presented by Ms. Tran Thi Minh Luong, MPP on April 12 th, 2018. She holds master degree in Development Economics and Public Policy of Fulbright Economics Teaching Program. As a social, gender and community expert, guiding women entrepreneurs and with more than 20 years of experience working for international non-government organization in Vietnam, she has brought students lots of interesting knowledge.
The seminar has provided the students with interesting and useful information on poverty, comparison poverty reduction between National program and International non-government organization, and some methods and skills for improving the participation of community to reducing poverty.
Moreover, Ms. Minh Luong shared many useful experiences and provided reality knowledge to solve questions of students involve in poverty issue in Vietnam, especially in remote and mountainous area which is a great impact on our economy today.
Through the seminar, the Faculty of Economics expects that students can receive useful information as well as better understand the causes, current situations and solutions to poverty reduction. This helps students a background of Vietnam economy & being useful for analyzing and evaluating the economic market.
