On 22/12/2017, University of Economics and Law held a Scientific Conference with the topic: “Political Economy
Research in Vietnam: Present situations and current issues”.

 The workshop was attended by:

• Associate Professor Nguyen Tien Dung - Rector of University of Economics and Law

• Associate Professor Nguyen Van Luan - Former Rector of University of Economics and Law

• Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen - Former President of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City

• Associate Professor Nguyen Chi Hai - Dean of Faculty of Economics, UEL

• Dr. Le Hung - Former Head of Postgraduate Department, Banking University

• Dr. Nguyen Van Dien - Deputy Dean of Faculty of Political Economy - Political Academy of Region 2 

The conference was also attended by many lecturers and researchers from Univiersity of Economics and Law, University of Economics Hochiminh city, University of Banking, Politics Academy Region 2, Saigon University, Political Theoretical center of VNU, graduated students in economics and politics major at the University of Economics and Law as well.

The Conference is meaning of  both theoretical and practical in present situations. Overall, the Conference concluded:

-          It is necessary to affirm the position and great contributions of Political Economy Science to the economic theory of the Party and the achievements of Vietnam's renovation and integration in the last 30 years.   

-          The study of political economy in Vietnam is also facing the challenges and inadequacies that are being put in place demanding a breakthrough and promotion in the study of economic and political economy.

-           It’s time to study Vietnamese Political Economy as a science major; coordinating with the relevant units to develop Vietnam Political Economy textbooks.
