“Responsible Use of AI in Education and Scientific Research.”

On the morning of July 10, 2025, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics and Law organized its second thematic seminar of the year at Room B1.306. The seminar was attended by:

  • Dr. Trịnh Hoàng Hồng Huệ, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Economics

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đỗ Phú Trần Tình, Head of the Department of Economics

  • Faculty members of the Department of Economics, along with postgraduate students and doctoral candidates of the Faculty of Economics

Dr. Lê Minh Thành, Director of the Project at the Institute of Applied Technology and Human Resource Development (AiOV), delivered an insightful presentation on the topic “Responsible Use of AI in Education and Scientific Research.” He began by emphasizing the importance of understanding the true nature of artificial intelligence, asserting that AI is merely a supportive tool and cannot replace human creativity in academia. Dr. Thành also highlighted potential pitfalls in using AI, such as “information hallucination” and “Deceptive Alignment,” which can lead to significant errors if not properly managed. To effectively harness AI, he provided guidance on utilizing popular tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, NotebookLM, and Perplexity.ai for developing research proposals. Additionally, he introduced a range of techniques, platforms, and essential considerations to ensure accuracy, transparency, and ethics in AI-assisted research.

At the conclusion of the presentation, Dr. Trịnh Hoàng Hồng Huệ delivered closing remarks, underscoring the increasingly vital role of artificial intelligence in education and research, particularly in the context of rapid digital transformation. Dr. Huệ commended the practical insights shared by the speaker, especially the focus on “Responsible AI,” an approach that demands transparency, ethics, and safety in applying AI to academic and scientific activities.

The seminar not only enhanced awareness but also provided valuable suggestions for faculty, doctoral candidates, and postgraduate students to effectively and sustainably integrate AI into research and teaching.

Administrative Session with Doctoral Candidates

Following the thematic seminar, the Faculty Board and the Department of Economics held a direct meeting with doctoral candidates to discuss matters related to training regulations, research progress, and academic support mechanisms provided by the Faculty. The session took place in an open and supportive atmosphere, fostering positive connections among academic advisors, doctoral candidates, and the university.

The seminar concluded with numerous valuable insights and expectations for fostering modern, responsible research directions, contributing to the enhancement of postgraduate training quality at the Faculty of Economics.
