From January 9 to 12, 2018, a delegation from the University of Economics and Law (UEL) paid an official visit to Chiang Mai University (CMU) in Thailand. Established in 1964, CMU is located in northern Thailand and is ranked among the top three universities in the country, as well as one of the top 100 universities in Asia (2015). The university has nearly 40,000 students and offers 36 undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
During the visit, UEL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chiang Mai University. In the initial phase of cooperation, CMU’s Faculty of Economics and UEL’s Faculty of Economics, along with the Department of Mathematical Economics, will implement student exchange programs and collaborate in research and training activities.

The signing of the MoU with CMU opens opportunities for student exchanges between the two Faculties of Economics and strengthens academic cooperation in teaching and research among lecturers and students. Under this agreement, in 2018, both faculties will host short-term exchange programs for students and faculty members and organize academic seminars.
During the visit, the delegation also participated in the 11th International Conference on “Predictive Econometrics and Big Data” organized by CMU’s Faculty of Economics and toured Chiang Mai University’s facilities.
The visit concluded successfully, promising future collaboration between the two universities in training and scientific research.
