Together with the contribution to transform and perfect the national economy with the aim of helping the country develop and perform well in the international environment of scientists, in August 2012, Ho Chi Minh University of Economics and Law – the Ho Chi Minh National University handed the Economics Faculty to host the science seminar, named “Institution and the role of institution in the development of the Vietnam economy”

The organizing committee received over 30 writings of professors, associate professors, doctors of philosophy, fellows, masters and researchers participating in the seminar. Many important topics were mentioned such as clearly analyzing the rationale of institution and the role of institution in the socialist-oriented market economy in Vietnam; deeply analyzing the institutional status and regulatory reform in Vietnam at present, in a result, it was seen that there remained a lot of limitations and shortcomings in many areas, thereby, it was necessary to recommend the views, objectives and solutions to reform the institution in an effort to promote the process of Vietnam economic development in the coming time.

Many papers and ideas of scientists presented at the seminar had a positive contribution in terms of both theory and practice to the reform of economic institution in Vietnam for better future.
