On the morning of October 4, 2023, the Faculty of Economics organized a discussion "Scientific research for students in the 2023-2024 school year" in a live format. The discussion had the participation of:
- Dr. Trinh Hoang Hong Hue – Vice Dean in charge of the Faculty of Economics.
- Dr. Nguyen Dinh Binh - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics.
- Associate Professor, Dr. Do Phu Tran Tinh - Head of the Department of Economics
- Dr. Pham My Duyen - Head of Department of Economics & Public Management.
- Dr. Huynh Ngoc Chuong - Lecturer of the Faculty of Economics.
- Master Le Nhan My - Lecturer of the Faculty of Economics
- Members of the Economics Club - ECS.
- Nearly 250 students from University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
In the Opening session, Dr. Trinh Hoang Hong Hue – Vice Dean in charge of the Faculty had a speech to summarize the scientific research of students of the Faculty of Economics in 2022 - 2023 and propose the orientation of scientific research activities of students of the FE in 2023 - 2024.
On behalf of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. Trinh Hoang Hong Hue launched a scientific research movement among students of the Faculty of Economics to conquer new knowledge, contributing to the development of the faculty and the University.
Dr. Nguyen Dinh Binh - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics presented a report on the scientific research situation of the Faculty of Economics for the 2022 - 2023 school year by the team of teachers and students in the faculty, evaluating the results achieved, limitations in the implementation process.
Based on the evaluation of the achieved results, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Binh presented the directions and tasks for students' scientific research in the 2023 school year with timelines and research orientations of the Faculty during the period 2021 - 2025 and research directions of lecturers.
After that, Ms. Nguyen Hoa Kim Thai student of FE shared experiences about the advantages, difficulties and points to keep in mind during the process of carrying out scientific research. Besides, she also infuses motivation and passion for science to students, motivating them to strive harder on their learning and research path.
In the seminar, with experience working and teaching in scientific research Dr. Huynh Ngoc Chuong - Lecturer, Faculty of Economics, University of Economics and Law, also shared about reasonable timelines and processes to create a complete scientific research paper. Besides, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Chuong’s sharing also revealed the practical knowledge that students need to equip when embarking on a scientific research project.
Students proceeded to ask questions to the teachers and siblings. Students' questions mostly revolve around the following issues:
- How to choose a reasonable scientific research topic?
- How to search and access reputable data sources?
- How to build a research model suitable for the topic?
And some other questions…
The discussion took place enthusiastically with enthusiastic support and responses from the lecturers.
The student scientific research seminar of the Faculty of Economics for the 2023-2024 school year took place successfully with the participation of a large number of students. Thereby, FE’ students have shown a positive and serious spirit towards scientific research. The Faculty of Economics wishes students to always maintain the spirit of learning, passion, and success in research and study.
